GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY COURSE (GNM) : 3 Years
Course
ELIGIBILITY
FOR ADMISSION -
(a)
Fresh Candidates:
(i)
Age:
The candidate should be 17
years to 35 years on the date of Admission.
(ii) Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualification shall be 12 years of Schooling (10+2) or its equivalent with 40% marks.
(iii)
Residence Status:
Preference will be given to the candidates who are residents of
Punjab as per Department of Personnel letters no :- 1/3/95-3PPI/9619
, dated 6th June 1996 and No. 1/2/95-3PII/81 dated 1st
January 1999.
(iv)
Medical:
The candidate
should be medically fit.
(v)
Preference:
Preference shall be given to those who have
passed 10+2 or its equivalent with science subjects i.e. Physics,
Chemistry & Biology.
(b)
Promotes
i.
Age :
No age
limit for candidates applying through proper Channel, who are
already in Government service.
ii.
Minimum Qualifications :
a)
Candidate should be a Registered ANM with the Punjab Nurses Registration
Council.
b)
The candidate should have
passed 12 years of Schooling (10+2) or its equivalent.
(iii) Medical: The candidate should be medically fit.
SYLLABUS
-
Syllabus
will be in accordance with the instructions issued by Indian Nursing
Council from time to time. Duration of the Course shall be three
years.
ELIGIBILITY FOR
EXAMINATION
a)
A candidate shall be eligible for appearing in the
examination satisfying following conditions :--
i)
She has completed not
less than 11 months of the course.
ii)
She has attended 75% of
formal instructions given on each subject and 75% of the field
clinical experience in each area/subject separately during the
academic year. However, the total clinical/field experience
prescribed must be completed before the final council examination
and before the issue of Diploma and Registration.
iii)
The overall performance
of the student and her conduct during the entire academic year has
been satisfactory.
iv)
The student has passed in
the internal assessment in each subject i.e. both in the teaching
and practical by securing 50% marks separately in each theory and
practical.
AUXILIARY NURSE & MIDWIFE COURSE (ANM) :
2 Years Course
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION -
a)
Age:
The candidate should be 17
years to 35 years on the date of admission.
b)
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification shall be 12 years of Schooling
or (10+2) or its equivalent.
c)
Residence Status:
Preference will be given
to the candidates who are residents of Punjab as per Department of
Personnel letters no.:- 1/3/95-3PPI/9619 , dated 6th June
1996 and No. 1/2/95-3PII/81 dated 1st January 1999.
d)
Medical :
The candidate should be
medically fit.
SYLLABUS
-
Syllabus
will be in accordance with the instructions issued by Indian Nursing
Council from time to time. Duration of the Course shall be one
and half year.
A
candidate shall be eligible for appearing in the examination
satisfying following conditions :--
(i)
She has completed course for at least 15 months.
(ii)
She has attended 75% classes in theory, practical and field
work. The overall performance of the student and her conduct during
the entire academic year has been satisfactory.
(iii) The
student has passed in the internal assessment in each subject i.e.
both in the teaching and practical by securing 50% marks separately
in each theory and practical.
ADMISSIONS FOR GNM & ANM
The following conditions would apply to admissions in
GNM & ANM Course.
a)
The admissions should be purely on merit of 10+2 marks for GNM Course and
Matric for ANM Course.
b)
Preference shall be given
to those who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with science
subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry & Biology for GNM
Course.
c)
The
admissions would be finalized by 31st August and the
classes would commence from by 1st September, if
otherwise not specified by PNRC/ Punjab Government.
d)
If the seats remain
vacant then admissions will be finalized by 30th
September and
no admissions
shall be allowed after the cut off date 30th September.
e)
If at any stage , it is found that the candidate has
supplied any false information in the admission form, then her
candidature for the course shall be cancelled.
Method
of selection: -
After
screening of Application forms by the Admission Committee, Merit
list will be prepared, which will be displayed on institute's
Notice Board on next day of the last date for the admission. The
eligible candidate will also be intimated by regd. post & they
will be called for interview before the admission committee of the
institute.
Duration of Course:-
General
Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)
The
duration of General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) is 3 years and on completion of course students must get themselves
registered with State Nurses Registration Council as per their rules
& regulations.
Auxiliary
Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)
The
duration of Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (ANM) is 2 years and on completion of course students must get themselves
registered with State Nurses Registration Council as per their rules
& regulations.
